If you are a beginner at drone flying, looking for a drone with guaranteed ease of use, than Syma X5C-1 will be the one for you. Most likely you had come across this name before since Syma X5C-1 was one of the most sought toy quadcopters when it was first released. It is the upgraded version of X5C, one of Syma’s most successful product, available at practically any drone store or web store. Syma X5C-1 is the perfect affordable toy drone to anyone on a small budget who wishes to have a beautiful and cheap drone experience. On top of all, Syma X5C-1 comes with its own camera so you can record and take photographs of your best moments. This being said, let us move on to our Syma X5C-1 Review!
Syma X5C-1 Material and Durability
First of all, let me say that since Syma X5C-1 was first released its price has gone down a lot due to new products being released in the market. Therefore you can now get this amazing beginner friendly quadcopter for an astonishingly low price (seriously cheap). So if you are on a small budget, it also makes the perfect gift! Syma X5C-1 is made of ABS Plastic and is a durable quadcopter capable of resisting most common crashes and hits. It has protective frames around its motors and propellers, which also ensure protection when crashing. Highly recommend for beginners to learn and practice.
Syma X5C-1 comes with a 2MP camera capable of recording and taking photographs at 720p resolution. It is a standard quality toy camera, so do not expect anything amazing from it. However, video and photos do have decent quality although video may display some ‘jello-effect’. The camera can be manually tilted up or down to acquire different recording angles. Photos and videos are saved into a Micro-SD card directly placed on the back of the camera. The pilot takes photographs or starts and stops recording video through buttons on the remote controller (included in the package). Considering the very low price of the Syma X5C-1 package, having a 2MP camera included already is a great value for the money.
When Syma X5C-1 was first released, toy drones were not yet featuring many functions. However, Syma X5C-1 still manages to have cool LED lights on the quadcopter’s arms for fun night flights. Secondly, it also has the incredibly fun to use 360º aerial stunt, with just the push of a button the drone will perform a quick 360º spin which will surely amaze crowds at the park. We advise you not to perform many 360º aerial stunts during a single flight as it may harm the motors on the long run.

Stability, Remote Controller and Control Distance
Has previously mentioned Syma X5C-1 is a quadcopter that is very easy to fly. Hence the reason for being one of the first choices for new pilots. It has a beautiful and stable hover thanks to its 6 Axis gyro system, enabling it an excellent balance while on air. Syma X5C-1 is also responsive to pilot’s commands and works in low to high yaw pitch rates. All of this is accessed through the remote controller (included in the package) which operates at 2.4 GHz frequency. Syma X5C-1 has an average control distance of up to 50 meters. Enough for any beginner to learn and practice while still having a decent range to fly its quadcopter.
Battery and Flight Time of Syma X5C-1
Syma X5C-1 uses a 3.7 voltage 500mAh Lipo battery (included in the package) which powers up to 8 minutes of flight time. To fully charge the battery it takes around 40 to 45 minutes. Considering the current low price of Syma X5C-1, 8 minutes of flight time is slightly above average for drones within its price range. Don’t forget that you can always purchase an extra set of batteries to get the most out of your quadcopter! However, when swapping batteries let your drone rest for 5 to 10 minutes so that the motors can cool off.
|THE GOOD||Syma X5C-1 is an extremely affordable quadcopter, probably one of the cheapest drone packages you can possibly buy currently in the market. Has a very nice hover, stable drone, very easy for beginners, great fit for learning and practicing. 2MP camera is a nice and fun addition to the package. Syma X5C-1 is made of a good ABS plastic and will resist most common crashes and hits.|
|THE BAD||The door of the compartment to place the battery in may get loose sometimes after a crash. When using camera maximum flight time can go from 8 minutes to 6 minutes.|
|BOTTOM LINE||Overall, Syma X5C-1 is a fun and very affordable quadcopter which will ensure many hours of fun to anyone looking to have a go at drone flying. Comes in a complete package ready to fly out of the box. Includes a 2MP camera capable of taking good photos and recording decent video.
